In my opinion, it feels unethical to buy old debts and pursue people who are already facing financial hardship. I personally would avoid doing business with lawyers or collectors who operate this way.

I had a garnishment that was attached to my payroll this year in October. This was done by a local County Court Clerk to receive back pay on a student loan that was back in 2017. After they took the first garnishment out of 25% I secured a loan to cover the rest of the money that I owed the courthouse successfully. I called in and spoke to Jordan and Jillian and they both agreed to let me make the payment and they informed me they would send a letter of satisfaction to the courthouse to tell them to stop the garnishment it's been 3 months now and I have not received reimbursement as my company is still garnishing my wages because the courthouse has not received anything from garner and conner yet. No words for these vultures! I've tried, and tried to settle by emails, but no results. I don't even remember having that credit card, actually. But was garnished after about 15-20 years, after this debt collector bulk bought up these old closed debts. According to the information I had received. Always, told by Paralegal " I'll talk to my client and get back with you. "

Filing a complaint with a judge next! I owe NOTHING MORE. I owed a credit card and was unable to pay for an extended period of time. Once I was able to secure a loan for the amount owed, I contacted the credit card company to get the number where the payment should go. I was directed to a collections company who then directed me to Garner and Conner PLLC. I called FIVE times with no returned calls to pay in full at that time. MONTHS later I was served and ordered to court. By then I had to use the money for other things for my three children. The person representing the law firm "took a note" that no one had returned my calls and insisted that I sign up for auto-deduct with interest. All I could afford was $10 a month at the time. If I could rate in the negative, I would! I had a credit card go to this firm. I called and setup monthly payments with them and made three consecutive payments. On the third month, they took me to court anyways and a judgment was entered against me, when Amanda at the firm told me that since I'm in good standing, I won't need to go to court. The only way I knew of the judgment is when I went to buy lunch one day and my debit card was declined and my bank account was wiped out leaving me with $10 cash in my wallet and not even a penny in my account. It was more than a week later that I was able to reasonably talk to Shilanda to get things figured out. Everyone else, even the receptionist, talks with attitude and disrespect. This firm should be reported!
