Deputy Terry cited me on US70 westbound going home after Labor Day. My registration sticker was expired. I had paid the fee but failed to get the inspection. (Let's bring back windshield stickers, right?) Deputy Terry said it was no big deal, just visit the DA office before the court date with proper registration in hand and they would dismiss. So, the next day took care of the inspection, assembled the paperwork in my "New Bern box" for the next trip and forgot all about it. Well, the next trip was canceled and the following trip was after the court date. My bad. When I appeared at the DA window requesting a kind and generous DA to plead with, receptionist Betty Bender offered to help. Charges dismissed! Yaay for the Craven County DA office, and especially Deputy Terry and

Corrupt. They don’t believe in self defense laws. If I could give 0 stars I would. These people have no integrity. They will lie and manipulate, even when they know you are innocent.

Not good. Been waiting over 7 years for justice.
