Washington County District Court

We are still in a pandemic right? I wanted to comment about my daughters recent experience with Washington county magistrates. Her teenage son refused to go back to school after falling behind with the so called virtual learning. The schools protocol is to refer these cases to a local magistrate. When she went to this hearing she was given a fine because of the Childs refusal to go to school. Exactly what is the fine to the parent who is out of work due to the pandemic helping? I am appalled that you would be implementing fines to parents this way at a time like this. I understand there should be consequences, and maybe then the teen should have been asked to complete community service instead of taking money from your already suffering community??

They were very professional and listened to my complaint.
