My father (a disabled Vietnam veteran) and my mother solicited a will from Joel Elliott in May 2024. At the visit they asked about other services, such as a transfer upon death, that would avoid probate later. They did not end up going that route and instead paid him for his services and each walked out with a Will. He provided them with a folder and copies of the documents. Six months later my father passed. A year after that my mother passed. In the folder from his office my mom had a hand written note saying Joel would charge $1500 to probate the will and it would be simple. I am their daughter and heir, so I called Joel. My husband's disability case is doomed as a result of this law firm holding our attorney fee hostage because we terminated their services due to a lack of communication and the total lack of professionalism of the office manager. Now she is absolutely refusing to waive the Attorney fee so that we can continue with our case. Since this is a disability case, no one gets paid now for this disaster. End of life issues are already coming up for my husband and now it's looking like he will be crippled without resources for an additional 3 years just to get back where we are, preparing to go in front of a judge after the first 2 initial denials that nearly everyone deals with.

My disability case is just dragging on and on and on. There has been ZERO communication between us and the attorney. The para-legals didn't return my call or help when I called back. After 6 months we are still "in the filing stage"!? I have an attorney but right now I feel like I am in this by myself or until back-pay maxes out at around $7000 as it does here in Texas (meaning there would be no more $ to make from my case). I will update this if things change and progress is made so if I haven't then it hasn't. Honestly I think my rating is conservative considering I never hear anything from the law firm and haven't even spoken to my attorney.
