My clients funds were withheld due to an accounting error that went unnoticed for 7 business days. We were told their accounting software was not able to reconcile until day of closing!! How does one collect funds from the buyer (1 week ahead of closing) and NOT know that they did not get the required funds? Serious oversight by a firm who is being paid to do this very work.

I am blown away at the way this title company has handled the sale of my property. They are representing the buyers only and clearly don’t have their business together. According to their website “If you are wiring funds, please make plans to wire funds the day prior to closing.” This clearly isn’t enforced. The buyers signed documents on Monday and it’s Thursday and I still haven’t received funds for the deal. The title company didn’t require the buyers to wire their funds Friday, Monday, or Tuesday. It wasn’t until Wednesday after closing that the buyer attempted to send funds via ACH which was rejected and then supposedly wired funds Thursday morning. It’s Thursday afternoon and still no funds. Kim Stephenson is the closer and clearly isn’t doing her job.
