In 2024 i was involved in a child support obligation with my ex girlfriend mother who lied and misrepresented my income so i filed a application with legal services to help with a child support modification they refused to help me they are very rude a terrible experience you have a better opportunity representing yourself you’ll only waste your time with getting any help from these rude people if you have a disability they treat you even worse never again this people should be reported for there rude behavior if you try explaining you situation they talk over you and treat you as your stupid they supposed to be a nonprofit organization

I dont know if it just because they government involved workers but counter lady was very rude and needs to change especially if im going there with my kids

I was told by the court magistrate's office to contact legal aid. The receptionist that answered the phone's name is Emily and she is completely rude. When I brought this to her attention she hung up on me just proving my point. I don't know who her supervisor is but she needs more training

What is the policy here in SC for grandmother's rights to see her grandson?

I get the impression that there are few people that they actually do help. This is a government funded company. IF they help you, they get paid, if they don't help you, they still get paid. Unemployment denied me benefits but I don't have the denial letter. The unemployment website would not allow me to appeal because they kept my case sitting as if it were still pending. After 3 months or so, unemployment closed my case. I had no chance to appeal. The second time I filed, the same thing happened. I have to wait 3 months before the unemployment office closes my case without any recourse. The South Carolina Legal Service said there was nothing they could do because I don't have a denial letter.
