I called Tom Shie to get advice on a a matter regarding an income tax offset, because his specialties include "tax law." As I talked to him, it was clear he didn't know much about the subject at hand. When I asked him his level of understanding on the offset process, he admitted knowing "nothing about it." Apparently, now I'm getting a bill in the mail for Tom offering no advice, and no service whatsoever. I'm passionate about ethics, and I believe it is unethical to send an invoice for services not rendered.
