In August 2024, we retained Shehu's legal services to initiate eviction proceedings. We informed him of a significant tenant disturbance culminating in a physical altercation, providing assurance that the incident was fully documented on video. His counsel, however, was to await rent default for a stronger legal position. Following his recommendation, we commenced eviction proceedings in mid-August, but court scheduling delays, due to tenant-requested continuances, postponed the hearing until November. Throughout this period, Shehu demonstrated a lack of engagement, declining to review the video evidence or discuss case strategy, instead directing us to monitor the ct.gov portal for updates. This lack of proactive communication indicated a significant deficiency in legal representation.
