Scott County Attorney's Office

After a small claims court date where the other party lied under oath, and I had proof, I went to report it to DA office. This is a Felony and I had proof she lied. He had the audacity to tell me it sounded like "sour grapes" to him. No respect to me at all. Is this how crimes are treated by the District Attorneys office, as SOUR GRAPES.

If you're a person of colour they will always go against you and/or not offer any help. I had a sheriff that was willing to take on a Crime that was committed against me and the Scott County attorney's office would not allow that to happen. Not to mention the same office tried keeping a firearm of mine that was stolen and recovered. They literally got a hold of me when they recovered the firearm because I had reported it stolen and they checked the numbers it came back to me and then they still wanted a receipt until I told them enough times that they literally called me after they checked the number on the pistol. It took 8 months to get my handgun back after the court case was over

Ms. Devine was absolutely amazing in seeking justice for my grandfather's murder. She was professional, compassionate, well researched and organized with the evidence and knowledgeable. She was a sight to see in court, and my family cannot thank her enough!

Black and brown people don’t get a fair trial. They will throw the book at you and laugh in your face.

People of color are not treated well here, if your white, you’ll be all right. If your brown, these people will take you down.
