It truly saddens us to write such a negative review about Justin Scott at Scott Counsel Law Office in Marlton, NJ, but we feel compelled to share our experience so that no other family has to endure what we did during an already painful time. We retained Mr. Scott in December 2024, paying a $14,000 retainer, to assist with placing our 93-year-old mother into assisted living and to potentially apply for Medicaid in the future if needed. At the outset, he insisted on redoing our mother’s will and power of attorney—despite us clearly stating that she already had valid and sufficient documents in place. He told us these revisions were “included in the price no matter what.” However, neither document was ever completed. The only assistance he provided was referring us to Jodi at Helping Hands

I hired Scott Counsel to handle my estate planning, and while the process felt overwhelming at first, he was incredibly thorough and took the time to explain everything clearly. He made sure all of our needs were fully addressed and completed. Estate planning takes time, but it is absolutely worth it and having someone as knowledgeable and patient as Mr. Scott made all the difference.

I had Justin Scott for not even two months. End of December to mid February.For personal reasons I told him I didn't need his services any longer. I gave him $14,000. In March I asked for my retainer back He asked me if I could wait until after tax season. Why? After numerous phone calls and texts he blocked my calls. It is now a year later. I've filed a complaint with the attorney general s office If you search him on Google, you will find the real Justin Scott I had a heart attack in June and my husband is now in a nursing home. I need my money back or at least most of it Just beware.

I’m disgusted that I can even submit a 1 star rating for Scott Counsel! They deserve 0. I hope this review helps guide your decision…Please DO NOT consider this predatory firm to help with Elder Law! They took $9500 from our Family and did Nothing to process my father-in-law’s needs for Medicaid. Due to their negligence, my father-in-law is in jeopardy of losing his accommodations in a memory care facility. Please share to avoid this nightmare with your loved ones.

Justin has a long history of professional knowledge, integrity and kindness, and that helps when dealing with all situations pertaining to the legality of elder care. I would highly recommend Justin, when dealing with these necessary life choices.
