This organization deserves praise. When I think of the work theyre doing, which is God's work btw, the word "thankless" comes to mind. This is reflected in their Google maps rating, as you can see. Makes me a little sad, if I'm honest, having had a great experience with their offices. They are not the courts and they cannot move mountains, but they're fighting the good fight and deserve recognition for that. They are sparing people the horrors of homeless, something I know first hand. This cannot be understated. They cannot prevent every eviction, that is impossible. What did I like about them? RI Legal Services and Attorney Lucy West did what they could when my younger half sisters evicted me from a condo I shared with my 84 year old mother as her free caregiver.I gave up 12 years taking care of my grandmother, stepfather, and mother. There was little to do because of a trust which gave them power over both me and my mother. They were able to buy me some time to leave. The need for services is enormous. I went to the office in Washington Square in Newport and stayed until they were able to help me. Calling just isn't enough.

Zero. Anything you ask them they just defer to other agencies or other private attorneys. I've even asked simple questions about procedure that are answered on the State Judiciary websites and they can't answer. I don't know where they find these people. They've been getting paid to keep their doors shut and locked while we get the runaround trying to get thru the phone lines for our no-answers. Despicable.

This place is easy to find. The staff were very helpful to me. I recommend this place to anyone in need of legal services.
