Poteau Police Department

The officers that responded to my 911 call were unprofessional and threatened police brutality on my husband because he was attempting to explain that I am a combat veteran and was having a PTSD related panic attack and that I needed my medication. Instead of calling for medical aid or dealing with the blatant ADA violation happening in front of them they were threatening my husband (also a veteran) and gave us a trespassing violation. Making me wait for 20 minutes in a medical emergency situation. These officers should be retrained.

The Poteau Police Dept. has been spectacular. Professionalism, and dependability are trademarks, while remaining affable. This department has been here when I needed them, every time. There are many examples of outstanding human beings working for this department.

Be prepared to defend yourself rather than calling on these rubes. Apparently, an elder abuse call to them is all a big joke. I spent 13 days in this godforsaken burg and escaped with my life no thanks to these losers!

They care more about the tickets/warnings they write than figuring out what actually happened by asking questions and watching cameras. They also threatened me with obstucruction if I didn't give them my ID which I know is against the law
