I am glad for the support of organizations like this however displeased with No. Nv. Legal Aid at 1 S. Sierra St on the 1st floor. Was attempting to assist someone else in expunging records and we were ridiculed and embarrassed while they had us spend just about an hour filling out paperwork they gave us. When I asked them to review the docs they stated that they were the wrong forms, mind you, the forms they gave me!!! The ones that took an hour to fill out?!. Did I mention we drove 3 hrs to get to their ofc!? Additionally when I asked to reorder the docs before I went upstairs to file them, they stated (and I quote): I'm not going to re-sort that for you! The last time I was in that office (about 4 Mos. ago) the people were friendly, customer service oriented and not misleading! What hap

Marty asked for medical information, then sent an e-mail that proved she was not listening. I have been through probate. They suggested selling my home when I have been advised not to do so as I am living with a low mortgage. They do not listen, ask for information that is none of their business, then told me to call Aging and Disabled Services Division. She asked if I have a social worker, who I do not need. I told her that I had already called that division and was told that they did not have programs for the disabled and their mortgages. Marty was more interested in collecting medical information, judging me, then not helping at all.

I was able to get as far as a telephone consultation with someone making me feel they were going to help me. Of course at the slotted time - no one called me. I called them, I wrote them… not even crickets. One would think they weren’t in business anymore. Wouldn’t recommend.

although they weren't able to personally help me, the lady behind the desk was incredibly friendly and offered other options for me and reasons as to why they couldn't assist me. she was very thoughtful in her wording and was sensitive to my issue. this has not been my experience with free legal aid. she was very patient and kind and made my process go a lot smoother. very thankful I talked to her.
