I am an out of state real estate investor and hired Attorney Leah Hawkins to help me resolve a real estate situation. She was very helpful and responsive. Fair priced also. I highly recommend her.

Leah was recommended to me for divorce & custody law. I first used her for a mediated settlement agreement in which she settled for a fraction of the child support I was entitled to. I was ignorant at the time, but now that I know better and look back over the documents and remember the way things were handled, it seems that she did not have my best interest at heart. Nearly a year later, my ex- sued for primary custody. Leah required another $5,000 retainer before she would touch it. We had a day-long custody hearing coming up, and Leah was supposed to prepare my witnesses. She did NOT prepare them. She didn’t provide any guidance or insight at all, and rushed off the phone before I finished asking questions. Her performance at trial was subpar. She did not press opposing witnesses at all

I never post negative comments but my experience with and first impression of Leah Hawkins are very disappointing. I am a professional who has worked with many attorneys in 32 years of my work history, but I have never encountered an attorney more rude. My mother, who is 97, on a walker and suffering from mid stage dementia, was selling her home of 72 years. Although it wasn’t necessary for mother to attend the closing she wanted to be there and it was important for me to have her there to close this chapter of our lives. When we entered the conference room, Leah immediately directed my mother not to sit in a specific chair at the table because the bank president “always” sits there in a closing.
