Law Office of Renee A. Buxton

I utilized Renee Buxton in 2009 and 2010. She was straight forward, knowledgeable of how the McHenry divorce system worked and responsive. I did create three binders ( for the Judge, my attorney, his attorney) of disclosure information so that saved me on cost as they were extremely thorough. Billing was reasonable and kept to a minimum with only responses required to the opposing attorney. I was refunded monies not utilized. I was recognized for recommending future clients. It is your divorce. You will get out of it what you put into it. Be respectful to the process and each other. Be succinct. If you bicker on every detail expect to pay for that time.

If you want a lawyer who is condescending, non communicative, expensive, and distant then Renee Buxton would be a great attorney for you. Don’t expect timely replies to your questions. Expect at least 1 1/2 to 2 years for your divorce and be prepared to do a lot of the negotiating yourself. She can ultimately get the job done, but in our situation, we didn’t end up on top.

Received a phone call from Jennifer chappiatta calling back on a call I made a week ago? She was on the phone being very rude, snappy, & didn’t seem like she wanted to talk. Not sure why she called back then? Both her and Megan responded in such an unprofessional manner. Had a couple friends witness this as she called when we were in the car. And all stated the way she called was unprofessional and uncalled for. No reason to be nasty to people who are seeking your help. If people need recommendations on where to go go to a place that cares about their business and their customers.

I have never dealt with such an unprofessional place. I’m not sure why people who own businesses treat people poorly. If you don’t like what you do and don’t want to do it it’s very simple and leave the job. I had placed a call a week ago after I called them they called back stating that they were returning my call. I was thinking a week after I called? I called three other mediators and responded to me within the hour. People who wanted the case, wanted to help, and answered all my questions. Which I think is crazy because Jennifer chappiatta has taken my case before. When she called back she acted as if she was bothered that she was returning my call. Good news for her is that they are so shitty at returning calls and respecting people that I was able to get my answers with another lawye

Renee Buxton is condescending, unreliable, and a terrible communicator. She withdrew from my divorce case just before it was settled and never talked to me to explain why. I had to hire another attorney to finalize the agreement. Worst experience with an attorney, ever.
