Law Office of Melanie C. Nicholson

Melanie was the GAL for my son’s case for his last name change. She was fantastic! He is 6, & she was so sweet, & patient with him. He loved her so much he wanted to sit with her in the court room, rather than me 😂 She definitely did her research for my case, & pulled through in our favor to fight for my son, & I truly cannot thank her enough for that! Her service was outstanding! Always quick to respond, helpful, & truly just a good hearted person!

Melanie Nicholson was my court appointed attorney. Her services were horrendous by the grace of God I was able to hire my own lawyer and once I hired my own lawyer, my children were back in my care 14 days later. The DSS system in Horry County is corrupt and I pray for all the families that have to deal with them and I would suggest if you get appointed Melanie Nicholson to do what you can to get a different lawyer. Everyone that works with DSS are so dishonest. I would think they would all be afraid that they’re gonna go to hell. But that’s not my burden to carry because God knew the truth in my situation and he knows what type of people they are. I will pray for all of you.

My experience was a 10 out of 10 very pleased with response from attorney, always kept me up to date on everything she was doing could not have been more pleased , I would diffinitely recommend her I live in NC and feel so blessed to have found Melanie Nicholson to be my attorney for case in SC

I should’ve posted this review 10 years ago when I first hired Melanie to help me in my initial custody agreement. I was referred to her by a very well known family law attorney in the area who couldn’t represent me due to a conflict of interest. She is a no bull, straight shooter. Exactly what I needed at one of the lowest times of my life. I was so pleased with her service that I didn’t consider using anyone else when i needed help again 2 years ago. My daughters father passed away recently so I can’t imagine how I may need her services in the future, but it was nice to feel like someone had my back.

Can you give less than 1 star? Wish I could. Incompetent is the best way to describe her. If you are assigned this GAL you need to immediately petition the court to have her removed. Facts do not matter to her. Do not put your family's future in Melanie Nicholson's hands, you will regret it....and be billed heavily for it.
