Teresa and La Vita Family Law was truly wonderful in helping guide my wife and I through our relatively complicated second parent adoption of our three children. She met us at a time that worked for us. She was understanding, responsive and transparent throughout the entire process. She brought a wealth of knowledge and experience. About 8 years ago I was referred to Teresa by an adoption lawyer I had used. During my first experience with her, for my divorce, I was able to email, phone, and meet in person with Teresa. As someone who appreciates walking through the hows and whys of the legal aspects of divorce, custody, and child support, I believed Teresa was quite adept at explaining not only the law, but how parties work to settle separation agreements, especially when children are involved. Since that divorce, I have reached out once or twice with simple questions regarding my judgement and have received prompt answers. Teresa is a excellent attorney who advocates for her clients and puts children's best interest above everything. She is diligent, sensitive and socially conscious. I know first hand that she is an ally for under-represented folks (POC, LGBTQ*, immigrant, victims of DV, and many others) caught in the family probate system. A system designed to perpetuate never ending litigation and client bills. Teresa, is highly ethical and quick to respond. She will not overbill you, nor make unrealistic promises. I would highly recommend Teresa. I have referred her to several friends and they have also found her to be helpful.

As a Parent Coordinator, I would not recommend. She doesn’t consider herself a mandated reporter, well.. she is “not sure.” She has direct knowledge of abuse and chooses not to report ( It got reported and upheld btw) She sits back and gets cc’d while post separation, financial, legal, psychological and child abuse takes place. (Data to prove all of this.) she doesn’t support LQBTQ+. She advocates for your children skipping sport/team obligations because “My kids sign up for everything and I don’t make them go.” -Teresa. She doesn’t advocate for devout children who ASK for their religious obligations to be honored at their own Parrish, because “I’m a Roman Catholic and I don’t make my kids go.” She instead suggests they attend a different religious denomination in a different town as
