Chin Law Group

I hired Chin Law Group in May 2025 for family law representation. Not only did the assigned attorney not advocate for best interest but after she withdrew from my case I had to deal with a refund issue for months. Chin acknowledged in writing (June 2025) that I was owed a refund but refused to process an electronic refund for over three months after the case closed. She: Originally charged my card electronically in May Claimed she "cannot process electronic refunds" Claimed she mailed two checks, which never arrived and didn't provided tracking numbers Repeatedly stalled issuing the refund I was forced to file a credit card dispute in November, which took a full month to resolve. Would not recommend. They may seem well versed, but they lack a spine and ultimately fumble when standing up for their clients. Texting is their go to play to keep as much of the retainer as possible.

Merrill is amazing. She was thoughtful and kind. She educated me and guided me through a very difficult process. She was easy to talk to and always available for me when I had questions. She has a great relationship with the judges and knows what she's doing. Merrill and her team changed my life. My daughter and I are happy and safe because of her. Highly recommend.

I can’t speak to other cases but iMHO our case was mishandled. Our experience was horrific! Merril was so disorganized that she missed appointments, meetings, and sent another clients prenup with all their financial information to us. Her staff was like a revolving door with attorneys and admin coming and going. Her lack of preparation was disastrous and resulted in us needing a new attorney. This was our experience. Merril is well versed in the law. She’s esthetically put together and fashionable with great style.

I’ve been using this firm for 2 years for a custody case. I was given the option to choose between Attorney Merril Chin and Associate Attorney Courtney Ryder. Based upon my financial situation at the time I went with Courtney. However, Merril still oversees a lot of the aspects of the case, which is great because I’ve never been displeased with how they’ve handled everything. If I could give 10 stars I would!
