Katz and Baehre

Mr. Baehre originally helped my mother set up her Living Will and estate paperwork approximately 10 years ago. In the last few years, we’ve had several questions, most he was able to answer over the phone. A few times we did come into the office, our questions were answered quickly And clearly and we weren’t even charged. He returned, phone calls promptly, was extremely professional and kind. I would highly recommend him.

Mark is all about the money. He drew up a trust for a elder family member. We inquired what should be in the trust , he replied anything. He did not list anything on the paperwork we were required to do the leg work and have things changed. In other words for a supposed $5000 one time fee, he gave us what he could have printed from offline. Another time we were looking for help with nursing home information, he wanted $10,000 more, we refused and he walked out saying we were done. I would not recommend dealing with him.

Having just moved back to New York State I needed an experienced attorney to update my trust/will documents and ensure I met NYS requirements. Jeff was exceptionally helpful, very quick and educated me on the best format for my situation. Highly recommend Jeff and his firm.

We needed let go of the attorney handling our case because he negotiated with the other side and offered to withdraw our father's will; which is something we would never do. When we asked Mark Baehre to take over the case, he advised us to stick with the lawyer that misrepresented us. I'm not a legal expert, but in my opinion, that is very bad advice. I wish I could leave a glowing review about how Katz and Baehre helped us ensure our father's Will was fairly probated.

During our free "estate consultation" Mark sat with us and we went through the details of the estate, the "heirs" involved, and he explained that unfortunately NY STATE is very cut and dry when it comes to how estates are handled when someone doesn't have a will legally filed. It doesn't matter WHAT you may have written and stashed away with other family members, it doesn't matter what you have in your safe that was signed by witnesses and notarized, if you didn't have it legally filed -unfortunately- it means NOTHING.
