My husband underwent elective surgery in May of 2023 for which we paid the amount we were told would be our responsibility. Post surgery we were hit with a very large surprise bill. The hospital stated that the surgery was not covered by insurance. If this were true why did they perform it without obtaining a signature from the patient accepting responsibility for the entire bill.
