Maria was hired by my attorney in an step parent adoption case. We never spoke to Maria, never received 1 email from Maria & never 1 letter from Maria. I paid my full retainer to her staff & it was MONTHS before I could even schedule the GAL appointment with her. After many unanswered emails, phone calls not being returned we did finally schedule the zoom meeting. We waited 15 minutes & she never showed up!! I was furious that this woman was to represent MY daughter but couldn’t even show up for her zoom meeting! When I called the office they tried to push it back an additional month. She never called, sent a letter or wrote an email to apologize to my daughter for missing school & waiting on her. Maria and her staff were very helpful and attentive to my needs as a client in a contentious lawsuit. They were all very responsive to my needs and those of my case. Maria also represented me when we eventually ended up in court, and I felt very confident and organized when I went into the court room due to her preparation and her ability to prepare me for what to expect. I had been to court numerous times, but previously never had to testify. I was the plaintiff, and the Judge awarded us everything we asked for. My case was in the area of parental alienation, and Maria is obviously well versed on the subject. It’s impossible to get a response from her. She handled my divorce and I’ve maybe talked to her twice. I’ve never even met her in person as she didn’t show up to my final hearing. I was scheduled to attend virtually from her office, and her assistant called me the day before telling me that something came up for another client and Maria had to join my hearing virtually from elsewhere. The office as a whole also seems incredibly disorganized. I’ve paid 2 retainers and one has seemingly just disappeared. Still waiting on a response about it.

My experience at the Averill Law Firm was a great one. Maria is so knowledgeable, professional, and caring. She is caring and a great listener. I really felt like to was genuine and she always gave me her honest advice. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a lawyer.

Maria is amazing at what she does! She is honest, hardworking, and empathic. Somehow she made me feel like I was her only client, though I know that was far from true. She stepped into my open custody case and cleaned up a mess left by another attorney. She had my back the whole way though and fought for me til the end. I can’t recommend Maria enough!
