I do not recommend Jay Ziemer for family law matters. In 2020, I retained him for a custody case and paid a $2,500 retainer, at his request I was to pay in cash, which he had me deliver to his personal residence. He stated he had an office there, provided a personal phone number and address, and promised to email a receipt, which I never received. Throughout the case, communication was inconsistent and often unreturned. When the court date arrived (via phone due to COVID), I felt pressured into agreeing to terms I did not fully understand or support. I was told that agreeing would secure custody of my child, but the outcome was the opposite—I lost custody, largely due to my involvement in a domestic violence situation that I was actively trying to escape. When I requested a refund of my
