I have the MetLife legal plan. I called for a consultation and how to get the paperwork started on a divorce, but I declined to retain them as a lawyer. I’m just looking for a 1 hour consultation. They got back to me stating they will not assist. I feel like they use MetLife for advertising purposes and if so, should be taken off their agreement. I’m sure the law firm will make a generic reply to this post

Be extremely careful with this law firm. Their consultation is purely a revenue stream. I have a very simple case with a Zoning Board of Cary for a Reasonable Accommodation request, and I have done all the leg work which the attorney confirmed. All I needed is legal representation for any unforeseen item and the firm insisted on consultation first for a fee. They took my money, and they are now telling me that they don’t have resources to support me. I asked why they insist on consultation if they have no resources to take the case?
