Involved in a domestic violence incident where I tried to disarm my partner who was threatening me with a gun. I ended up with an injured arm. He ended up falling due to some prior health issues. The sheriff department informed me that the district attorney said that since I attempted to disarm him, even though he was threatening me that I was the one that should be arrested because I started the whole thing by trying to get the gun( he was also drunk) sheriff said DA was giving me a gift because he didn’t arrest me and that if we ever call back again, they would arrest both of us. What kind of law-enforcement is this in Maine? Is it the good old boy? Is this legal or is it because this is such a small area to sheriff thinks they can run rampant and threaten you?
