I am writing to document my concern regarding the consultation I received through the lawyer referral service. I paid for a guaranteed 30-minute consultation. However, the attorney asked only two brief questions and then declined the matter without explanation, legal insight, or even general guidance. The call ended almost immediately, and the substance of the consultation did not reflect the time or professional engagement that was represented as part of the service. I fully understand that attorneys may decline representation. My concern is not the decision itself, but the lack of meaningful consultation, absence of professional courtesy in explaining the basis for the decision, and failure to provide even minimal directional input that would justify the structure and cost of the refer

Rapid referral to a local attorney for my 98 yr old mother regarding a John Hancock L-T care claim denial (welcome to the real world, eh?) who was/is absolutely amazing, with knowledge and heart. NO ONE I spoke with as I made calls would consider this assistance on anything other than a contingent fee basis (30%+ on > $100K + a % of FUTURE collections???). Here I am working with someone on a very reasonable hourly basis who said they weren't sure we even needed legal assistance, but we wanted it as a sounding board and for guidance, never having been down this road. What an amazing individual and partnership with us! I couldn't be more thankful for them and the peace of mind. I don't want to out them, because I know this is not common practice, but he is truly my hero!

Minor hiccup with the site, but the attorney they connected me to was far and away much better in terms of their empathy and treated me with respect. I'd highly recommend the service for anyone looking for support in VA.
