Van Meter Lera K

Lera is one of the worst lawyers I have ever had the unfortunate experience dealing with. She was appointed by the court for my mother's guardian/ conservatorship case. My wife has stage 4 cancer, we have my grandson most of the time, I injured my back and for three weeks my grandson and I have been sick. Lera's first question to me was why haven't you visited your mother in 2 months. She said the same thing to my brother WHO LIVES IN FLORIDA! Lera is by far the worst lawyer I have ever dealt with! In court she stated my mothers bill would be over $15,000 because of the questions I asked her. I am a CPA and worked with lawyers on a daily basis. I have never dealt with one this bad! I would have given her 0 stars if possible.

My story is like all the other female reviews. She was on the side of my Ex. She yelled and would not allow me to speak or share my evidence. I had heard she is always on the mans side. Just read her reviews! She is running for family court judge again and I ask all the women and others whose life she negatively impacted to make sure she does not get back in that court! She is a dangerous, horrible and extremely unprofessional judge. I’ve never seen worse or heard of worse. My lawyer said she does not even know the law or go by it. Keep her out of family court!

She's always on the side of wrong apparently. She just yells and screams. I don't think she spoke in a normal tone the entire time. Barely acknowledged me. Sit there and listened to two different contradicting statements from the abuser and still took up for her. Told me I didn't submit my evidence correctly, then basically said she didn't care, then brought it up and if I went to answer screamed it wasn't permissible in her court room. I finally just quit speaking. I knew I wasn't going to win. I just get to sit at home scared now. She said I'm her last victim, both of my abuser and of her apparently.

Watched my sister walk out of her court room beat down more than she did going in by the abuser she was there for! I watched as my sister as a single mother give $500 for security cameras yesterday because her abuser was given full permission to be 15 feet from her front door any given day or time! Very sad and highly disappointed with our legal system yesterday!

I firmly believe that Lera Vanmeter only won her position because there was no one to oppose her. She screamed during the entire hearing, apologized for the waiting time to only one parties side, when the wait required both parties to wait and was on her and the courthouses' behalf. I've seen her twice and she has behaved as a power hungry person with a feast, screaming, name calling, and was entirely unprofessional (even the opposing side agreed) and that is to say the LEAST. I hope she enjoys it while it lasts because if she treats everyone this way(and judging by the screaming coming from the waiting area during the hearing before ours, she does) then I don't see ANYONE voting for her. I will run MYSELF if I have to, to keep this woman from being in office again.
