Valentine represented us a few years ago in a custody case for our nephew. I spoke to him one time on the phone, and once in person in the three months we worked together. He obtained temporary emergency custody for us. We were never given any receipts detailing how our money was used, or if there was a remaining balance. Our new attorney cost the same price for termination of parental rights, and adoption. We worked with them for over a year and received detailed receipts of where our money went, and a refund check for our remaining balance. Looking back, I feel we were taken advantage of during a time of grief, due to us being young and overwhelmed.

There are no word to express the trust that I have in Mr. Valentine as my attorney, my advocate, and frankly, just having my back. I will give it a shot, though. As a plantiff, and had no idea that I needed an attorney since I was the victim of a crime, but I learned that navigating the legal system on your own is not an easy task. After vetting a plethora of attorneys, I knew that Stephen Valentine was the one who had my best interest. He knows the law with precise expertise, immediately made me feel at ease, but he also shoots it straight- all things I wanted and needed in someone who is representing me. If I could give zero stars, I would. I am so incredibly disappointed in my "legal representation" if that's what you want to call it. Mr. Valentine has spoken to me like an absolute dog on numerous occasions. He yells at me over the phone. I don't even answer sometimes when he calls because it is stressful to talk with him. He has not fought for me, nor has he fought for my daughter's best interest. I believe that he simply does not care about his clients or the outcome of their cases. He has made the traumatic experience of a child custody case even more traumatic when I didn't think it could be possible. Been a terrible experience overall. Acquired Mr. Valentine for separation/divorce and a DVPO served only to take control of home. Does the bare minimum. Communication fair at first then turns non existent over time. Once he’s paid you become a number in his list of clients. Spouses young motivated attorney made him look like a clown. Want a stressful time made worse…? Hire this guy.

If you are a woman don't go to this man. I paid him for a consult. I left his office in tears and angry after he made me feel like the bad guy for the second time in less than 15 minutes. I felt as if I had been in front of the spouses attorney instead of one I was considering hiring. Horrible man. $250 for 20 minutes of humiliation. If I had not paid cash I would have stopped payment
