I’m deeply disturbed by Attorney Russ Oliver’s defense of deputies N. Cobb and Philpot in the tragic case of Michelle Sanders. Michelle was visibly intoxicated, fleeing domestic violence, and walking alone on a dark road. The deputies refused to give her a short ride—not due to protocol, safety, or policy, but simply because they didn’t want to. Minutes later, Michelle was struck and killed by a tractor trailer. Even worse, Mr. Oliver attempted to excuse their inaction by claiming that there were "no domestic violence shelters in the county"—as if that somehow justified leaving a vulnerable woman to walk alone on a dark road for 2 miles. This argument is not only morally hollow but legally and logically incompetent. The presence or absence of a shelter has nothing to do with the deputies’

My experience with the Oliver Law Firm has been what you would want from legal representation. They answer any questions you may have and are very timely in getting back with you on any questions. Very good at keeping you informed on how things are going and you also feel comfort in the knowledge the entire team has of the legal system.

If I could give 0 I would. This person is a sad excuse of a human being, defending a cop who left a drunk woman (who was escaping a domestic violence situation) on the side of a road where the speed limit is 60 mph in pitch black darkness who died 13 minutes after they left her. To then call it “extreme armchair quarterbacking” and “unfair” to the officers means you have no regard for the safety of others and are willing to help a cop walk.

It’s moved!! Very nice office. Super hard working attorney with a great office staff.
