For two years, this Guardian ad Litem has been assigned to my foster son’s case. During that time, she has spoken with him once — and that only occurred months into the case after we initiated contact. Repeated calls and messages have gone unanswered. Most recently, during an active situation in which we were unsure whether our child was safe, I contacted her seeking assistance. When she finally returned my call, the focus was not on the child’s safety or wellbeing. Instead, the call centered on reprimanding me and telling me how not to “tell her how to do her job.” The tone was raised and confrontational while I was actively attempting to reach the child. Tried to contact her over two years, she completely ignored me and neglected my case knowing I didn’t have money for another lawyer and allowed someone who abandoned his kids and stabbed me back in their lives because she never got back to me to file abandonedment. Then miscommunicated things and pressured me with a 10 hour notice of court to let him back. Said he’d take both kids and took one. I know have two broken children and my abuser back in my life.

She was our GAL for our 14 year old daughter and asked her if she felt comfortable changing from supervised visits and our daughter said no. She said well I think they need to change and put our daughter in an uncomfortable position to please the parent that was found guilty by the state and placed on the registry for child abuse and neglect. She completely ignored our daughter when she said she seen her parent using buying/selling pills also possibly being on methamphetamine. She chose to let her go unsupervised without good cause except she is a mother. Many situations the GAL is required to drug test without placing a child in possible danger. She said we will discuss it for trial. This is not ok and on top of that she is impossible to get a hold of. We will be seeking other counsel. Do
