The Men's Shelter provides for the needs of the men in Henry County using the 1928 High Scool building. It is partially supported by the thrift stores selling donations. Always looking for a bargain.

It's a great place for the homeless to be able to go & find some place to stay for the night. Some find the shelter's rules to be too strict but that's usually because they find themselves to be drug addicts who can't get their fix because they have to be in the shelter at a certain time of night or they will miss the chance to get in all nite at all. The facility also claims residence over several stores such as consignment shops & things of that nature & places where you could donate items to. It's hit or miss on whether you will find something you'd like but it's worth a trip to look.

I stayed over a week there volunteered work as I stayed. The cook was very good. I loved her good hot cooked meals. Loved it the hole time I lived there.

Love the inexpensive pricing on some things but they have got outrageous on s lot of things now for some reason there is always something new to choose from but they want way to much for the furniture I mean it's donated it's not given to make a fortune off from, Make SOME MONEY AND LET THE CUSTOMERS GO HOME HAPPY AND 'WANT' TO COME BACK!!! I DON'T GO NEAR AS OFTEN AS I USED TO BECAUSE OF THIS...

As part of a community help system, this place does offer beds for the homeless, yet with a price to pay. They do NOT give the men there rides to work and back for a small fee out of their paychecks each week as stated in the Courier Times. You must sign a contract upon entering, stating you agree to pay rent there at the rate of $90.00 a week. For men needing drug rehabilitation, they are NOT allowed to be part is a MAT (medication assisted therapy), even when proven to be successful. They also have fake "classes" that when photographed or video taped, appear to be an electrician' s course taught by a well known local electrician. The men are told to get to the meeting room for photographs and coffee, then pictured as if they are in a real college "Vo-tech" type class. And part of the pun
