We started our immigration process ourselves — we filled out and submitted the entire packet on our own. We only went to this firm because we had some questions that we expected a competent lawyer would be able to answer and guide us on. We hired the Puerto Rican lawyer at this firm and paid him $1,200, after he said he would take over our entire case. That was completely false. He didn’t help us at all and proved to be very incompetent and unreliable. When we later received notice of our second interview, he called to say “congratulations,” as if he had done something, and then told us he would not attend the interview unless we paid extra. So basically, we paid $1,200 for him to tell us something we had already received in the mail. After that, he offered no help whatsoever. Thankfully
