Excessive consultation and legal fees. Information received in consultation conversation can be googled. I consulted with an estate planning lawyer who claimed the fees covered 30+ preparation hours. What preparation? She responded to an email inquiry and scheduled a call with me. which she stretched out to 90 mins when it could have been wrapped up in 60 mins. During the call, she took notes - none of which were followed up on because I chose not to move forward after being given an estimate of $15,000 for services - which were 3x what other comparable lawyers were charging. She did no research and no other work to justify a $750 fee charged. Unless you are in an extremely high wealth bracket, I recommend bypassing their services. My lawyer was Steve Polyakov and I don´t recommend his services. The lack of answer and the fact of not being focus in getting a solution made the case lasted for 12 long years, and I ended up spening lot of money for nothing. Because the company we sued closed. When I told him the company closed, Steve even tried me to continue to pursue the old owners.... that is ridiculous, just for paying him more money.... he should have work hard during the 12 years that the case lasted, and what he did was not answering emails during months and disapeard and be busy with other cases. When I asked for a detailed invoice with what they were doing, just they said it is not usual to give that much details. My recommendation, don´t waste your time and energy with this lawyer.
