Spinella Owings & Shaia

I had a Will drawn up for my wife and I several years ago by Attorney Thomas Eubanks who was a part of this firm and who has now retired. Mr. Eubank was very respectful and did a great job for us. I contacted this firm on February 18, 2026 and asked for an electronic copy of my Will in case we need to edit it down the road. I even agreed to pay for it. The firm refused to provide us with the electronic version requested. I had some similar experiences as some of the other reviews have stated with this practice a few years ago when we contacted them after Mr. Eubanks departure looking for assistance.

My family (grandparents, great aunts and uncles, mother, aunts, uncles and cousins) has used this law firm for 50+ years for estate planing so you can only imagine my dismay that they couldn't even be bothered to return my calls. My Mom suddenly passed and we could not find her will. I contacted them and was told that they should have a copy on file but could not locate it and had to reach out to a retired memeber of the firm to see if he knew. AND that was that. Called and left NUMEROUS messages, but they never called me back. That had me questioning what on earth has happened to this firm and then I realized the answer. Spinella and Owings have both passed and Shaia retired. The irony is that there are several other attorneys with the same last names in Richmond, but do NOT work for this

The law firm of Spinella, Owings and Shaia assisted me with a situation several years ago. Yesterday, I received a call that I interpreted as threatening. I was at a loss, so I called the firm I had dealt with in the past. The receptionist that answered the phone told me she wanted to get me to someone to help but I had called at the end of the lunch break. The receptionist would not stop attempting to get me help, within minutes I was connected with Mr Justin Ritter. I briefly explain how I had his firm number and then described what had just happened with a threatening phone call. Mr Ritter put me at ease immediately, gave me advise, made several calls and continued to call me with information as he looked into my situation. Omg where do I start I was seen within minutes of finding them and my situation was fixed in 24 hours the best

I used Spinella, Owings & Shaia, P.C. for house closing. There service is very poor and hidden charges. Sorry, I am not recommend them. Stay away.
