I have used Schooley Law Firm in many situations over the past two years, and have been very satisfied with their service and professionalism. I’m the executor of my mom’s estate, and my sister is the trustee of my mom’s trust. Jennifer Schooley recommended that my sister have a separate lawyer, which we did, so that each of us would receive the best legal advice for our individual responsibilities. This worked out well, and I have also had Schooley Law Firm prepare the estate legal documents for my wife and me.

My husband and I decided to work with Schooley Law Firm because we had heard great things about the firm. When we met Jennifer and her team, we knew we were in the right place. For one, we really appreciated how current and up to date they were on issues that would affect our family long term. They advised us on things we never thought about and surely did not know about. They were efficient, respectful and we felt like they really cared about our estate planning. This relationship is long term. We know will be working with this firm for many years to come so we did not make this decision lightly. We feel like Schooley Law will be with us as we age and as our needs may change. My original review was deleted so I'm posting a new one. In my opinion, Jennifer Schooley is not to be recommended. After two physician's had deemed a family member to be mentally incapacitated, this law firm changed her estate plan prior to having her evaluated or speaking with the attending physician or family members about this prior to intervening. Our petition for guardianship was heard in June 2022-- contesting Jennifer's new documents and the circuit court for the City of Williamsburg ruled in our favor. The appointed Guardian Ad Litem supported our position as well--my entire family was in the courtroom. I hope that this NEVER happens to anyone else. It was a terrible experience for our family.

I am sad to say that not only can I not recommend this law firm, but also would share that my family experienced extreme trauma and in my opinion, an aging relative was taken advantage of by them. My relative, who had been diagnosed by multiple physicians with dementia, ended up finding her way to Jennifer Schooley. In her confused state, she requested changes to her care that, in my family's opinion (who had been caring for her up to this point), were not in her best interest. This legal team did so without calling a single member of her locally based family. The end result was a costly, traumatizing experience for my family that alienated at a time when all we needed was to care for one another.
