Mr. Pope contacted another attorney who apparently he thought we had dealings with. He told him outright lies about what we had supposedly said to potential buyers in a real estate deal. He claimed that we had attempted to dissuade them from buying into our community. On the contrary, we had invited them to attend our annual picnic ! I did talk with Mr. Pope later over the phone and asked him why he said these untruths. I asked for an apology. He refused to do so and changed the subject, asking instead for my help with a document that he needed. I hung up. He never called back and has never apologized for accusing me and my colleagues of making untrue, discriminating statements.
