Very pleased with Sheila and her team & I highly recommend her to anyone who needs an attorney for purposes of custody. Especially a DAD sorting custody. My husband retained her office to settle custody of his children from a prior marriage. Our case turned out almost exactly as Sheila said it would in our initial meeting - through mediation & not in court. A word of advice - BE PATIENT. We were never ignored or neglected and never felt unprepared or in the dark. That said, you won't hear from her office every day or even every week, but when your time comes, you will receive their FULL attention.

I feel absolutely sickened and taken advantage of. Since January, I’ve been in an ongoing legal battle that still hasn’t been resolved. Sheila was an AMAZING attorney. She is a powerhouse and knows the law. She worked relentlessly on our very HIGH CONFLICT custody battle. She was aggressive and was able to get everything my husband asked for. She is unorthodox - If you are timid or "faint of heart", she may not be for you, BUT if you want someone who is willing to go outside the box and tell it like it is- Sheila is the best. She is expensive, but you pay for what you get. It did take a VERY long time, but it was not Sheila's fault- I felt it was more of a Saint Tammany Parish issue. Very highly recommended for father's rights. She will dive into your life like she is living it.

My case could have been resolved with a clean sweep. $5k paid in advance. Two days before court I get a call… my attorney will not be able to attend. My “substitute” attorney was great for what she was given, but was poorly informed as to what was going on. This caused my case to drag out over multiple hearings and got me nowhere. Nearly 10k in I was forced to throw in the towel. If communication happens with this office at all it’s over speaker phone and attorney sounds like she’s across the room with her head in a file cabinet. Legal aid actually told me, “We are not your babysitter don’t call unless you legitimately need to. Absolutely terrible lawyer as far as communicating with you as a client. I fully understand the fact of being busy with other people. I have left upwards of 5 messages to her and didn't hear anything from her till my last message saying I want to withdraw as her client. If she was great for other people that's awesome but for me and my situation it was a huge waste of money and time. So if you like communication and don't mind paying for it go to someone else that will give you a time of day.
