After a 2-1/2 year arbitration and over $75k spent on legal fees, my attorney, Justin DePaul, informed me that the judgment that I was awarded was uncollectible because of a “rookie mistake” (his own words). He failed to add the spouse’s name to the arbitration so community property could be collected on to pay the judgment. Justin knew my ex-business partner was unethical and a scoundrel, which is why I removed myself as a partner from the business and there was a need for arbitration in the first place, so by making this “rookie mistake” it allowed any assets that could have been collected, easily transferred to the spouse who was not named and hide assets, essentially in plain sight.
