ZERO STARS. I had a absolutely terrible experience with Emmalie Brudzinski, one of their family law attorneys. DO NOT HIRE M+W unless you want to feel resented, mistreated, and laughed at when you cry. My case was completely mishandled, and when I reached out to Becky Martin, the namesake of the firm, she sided with her attorney even though I pointed out several factual errors that affected my case that are solely and explicitly due to the mismanagement and handling of my divorce. The single worst customer service of my life, as well as the most expensive. I paid to lose many of my parental rights and personal freedoms. Do not risk it, look elsewhere. Trust me. I wish I had.
I called for some information about a case for a friend and the receptionist was very rude and dismissive. If the people that she works with allow this I can only imagine what they are like.
Melissa Bakeberg does thorough work, especially under a time crunch. I’m so happy I chose her to represent and guide me through preparation and court hearing. A fair & just ruling was the result and Melissa's work was sincerely appreciated. Additionally, Martin & Wagner receptionist (Victoria) and paralegal (Melissa) were extremely kind and helpful assisting me through my experience! -K.J.
I have been using this firm (Ethne) for my divorce, which started years ago. The issues started at the beginning, but I stayed with this firm only because they had case knowledge and each time I thought things would get resolved and I would be done with them. At the beginning, she never informed me of consequences to how the decree was written, which led to me giving up 50% physical custody. It is nearly impossible to get that back. I have spent the last several years trying to get a better deal through mediation, which they were never prepared for, I had to essentially do all the preparation and all the talking in the mediation, while they collect fees to do literally nothing. When an agreement was not made and we needed to file a petition, they decided to cancel my matter and close my ca
I had the unpleasant experience of working with Becky Martin during a case (she was representing the other party) and her ethics, demeanor and attitude all need adjustment. I've never seen someone argue a point while using minors as leverage, not having her facts straight, and using personal attacks as a way to bully the other party. I wouldn't recommend her to people I don't like--nobody deserves that.
