Mr. Salem was paid to send a cease-and-desist letter, but it came back as undeliverable. He was then paid a retainer to file a complaint for delivery by sheriff. Weeks went by with no updates. Emails received only out-of-office replies. Phone calls went unanswered. When he finally called back, he apologized and promised to have the complaint ready by a certain court date. When that date arrived, nothing had been filed. He offered to prepare an affirmation letter to use in the meantime. That never arrived either. After more waiting, he was emailed stating that if he did not file by a Friday at 5 p.m., the filing would proceed without his help. Another out-of-office reply followed, and Friday came and went with no response. A few days later, my family went to the clerk’s office and filed it.
