Customer Reviews
Kathleen Hartle at Legal Aid is a very compassionate and competent Senior Paralegal who has come to my in a time of crisis. She’s helping me fight my landlords who have created long standing dangerous conditions for myself and others. While she nor her colleagues can bring an action against my landlords, she has been successful in communicating back-and-forth with my landlord’s attorney, which has kept them from completely bulldozing me. In meeting with Kathleen I found her to be incredibly kind and easy to talk to. I’m so grateful that Legal Aid and people like her exist. If I get better and start working again I’m going to donate to this organization.
A man did my intake and it went well. I didn't know if legal aid could help me. The intake person told me that it would take 2-3 days before someone got back to me. Brian Miller called me and told me that because my case hasn't gotten into the court system yet he couldn't help me. However, he did say that his paralegal would reach out to me and further advise me on what to do. He seems like a great lawyer!
We are thankful for the ability to obtain legal assistance given our limited budget as we are retired. The staff are very accomodating and pleasant to deal with. They go the extra mile to ensure all of your legal matters are handled easily and without significant difficulty. Kudos to Legal Aid Society and all they do to assist those in need in our area.
Horrible experience both times I worked with Kathleen Hartle. Said she looked into stuff that she didn't. Told me the amount they took from my security deposit was right. How isnthat if I have proof of rent paid in full every month. She says oh it's not tied to any one month.??!!! Like what??!! That makes no sense at all. If it's paid in full then $250+,doesn't just accumulate out of thin air. What do they care, they get paid either way. I think ghe next step is ghe nys attorney general.
The intake process was promising, but then they never really got back to me. I understand they're busy but I was in crisis and was given barely any advice and was told they couldn't help. They literally are here to help but they couldn't help me? They even seemed like they were siding with the landlord on this matter. What are they there for if not to protect our rights? Wondering if it's only certain ppl that get service. Without really looking at my case they made a decision to not help. Very interesting
