Legal Aid Society of Story County

This place is a God-send for people who are struggling financially. I got on a waiting list as soon as I knew I needed a lawyer, and it was less than 2 months that they called me back. As a team, they have been thorough and helped me think of things that I missed. They are kind, friendly, and understanding; just what you need in a lawyer. I'm thankful for their hard work and dedication!

Melissa in the office was very helpful with the intake forms (i have paperwork phobia and was able to breeze through it). Bethany represented me and explained my options objectively so i felt more included in the process than i thought i would have been. If you can’t afford a lawyer and it’s not a criminal case, go ask for help (i’m glad i did).

Peggy was the attorney that assisted in my case. She was understanding, empathetic and professional as my case had some emotional ties. When she couldn't assist, she directed me in the right direction with someone who could.(It was out of their scope for a portion of it) She kept me informed at all times and made me feel as through I had hired the best representation money could buy (keep in mind the point of legal aid is for financial burdens).I would highly suggest if you need assistance to contact Legal Aid of Story County.

They were able to give me help once for my divorce and I was thankful for it so it was easy to have it done on their side but for private matter is more difficult to have them deal with as this may not be a sure deal case on their part but try it and you will see. They are very nice and too formal depending what they need or have time for
