I am an elderly surviving spouse and contacted these folks to specifically ask about ORS 108.040, the Oregon Family Expense Act as I owe thousands of dollars for my wife's chemotherapy. While admitting she was not a lawyer, the person I spoke with abruptly said she had "never heard of that" and immediately became very condescending. She offered NO further recommendations or advice and essentially dismissed my other questions as I asked..."should I call the Oregon Department of Justice for information, would they know?" "If you want to!" If this is how senior citizens are treated by this group shame on them.

They won't help at all despite telling them my civil rights are being violated and I'm being abused by the courthouse. I have all the proof I need on my phone and through letters. The woman running the place won't help with no contact restraining orders even if the no contact order is tearing the family apart, putting my daughter at risk of growing up without a father, and the good marriage my wife and I have while does have it's troubles is being burned to the ground by a corrupt courthouse. Don't even know why they exist.

The woman on the phone who let me know that I make $150 too much per month to qualify for services (after a loss of employment) was one of the rudest and most unkind human beings I’ve ever spoken too. I was kind, and not aggressive in any way. I asked if there were any other resources and she literally just sat silent on the phone for a full two minutes. Literally sociopathic.

Helps with very little services, was very disappointing

When I first needed legal aid assistance years ago the attorney assigned to me was absolutely wonderful, great attitude, very persistent, took the time to truly understand and represent me to the fullest. (Years ago-I’d have said 5 stars wasn’t enough!) I then had the unfortunate experience of her moving mid case, I was transferred to another attorney in the office whom was horrific. She was a bully, never allowed me to fully explain or understand things, she threatened to not represent me unless I did exactly as she told me and vocalized she just wanted my case over with. I then had the displeasure of having another attorney with the same office after my RO was contested. I never fully received information pertaining to my cases due to the choice of “inability” by legal aid to accept my f
