I received a traffic ticket on Labor Day of last year for speeding. I reached out to the Door County prosecutor for a resolution, and provided a very legitimate explanation for why this ticket should be reduced or dismissed. She immediately refused, and did not even consider my position even though she could not refute what I was telling her. In other words, she thought I was lying or did not care if there was a good explanation. Such rigid thinking makes for a bad prosecutor, and it is a bad sign. Even worse, the documents sent to me were nonsensical and the DAs office did not respond promptly when I asked if I could submit my guilty plea via email.
