Divorce Without Court: Jeff and Liz Steen

Update #2: Shortly after writing this review she emailed me bribing me to take it down. This case was first registered in King County and is mentioning Lincoln County in email and now here. This is absurd. Case was started in King. Why would I redo my case in Lincoln when I live in King? I have no relation to Lincoln County. Also in her comments below she's stating personal injury, lost case. What?!. This is a divorce mediation case. Nothing to do with a personal injury. I'm not working with an additional attorney. Also placing accusations that I'm in some google "group" that is trying to take her business down. While agree with their complaints I'm not affiliated with this group. Do not trust these people. Liz Steen has a long history of lying about plain facts that can be easily verified. She just seems to love gaslighting strangers on the internet. I honestly have no idea why, but it's a pattern that's gone in for years across multiple platforms. Most recently she repeatedly claimed on a neighborhood Reddit post that there are no public pools in West Seattle. There are two, and there is no way anyone who's lived here for a summer wouldn't know that. People repeatedly provided her with that information but she just got more belligerent and kept repeating the bizarre lie. Why lie about it? What do you gain from that? It indicates some deeper issues. I would never trust this woman.

Update: Things got finalized as we discussed my expectations of the process. Thank you Jeff for great communication! Pleased with the results. Thank you Liz for understanding and coming through. Initial review Signed divorce papers sometime back in February 2024. It is End of June and nothing was filed. Just checked yesterday. No updates from Elisabeth either. She is not answering the phones and we communicated via messenger and I asked her what’s going on there. She saw the message but she had never replied. Separation agreement was signed and she did helped mediate and get it done, no complaints here, but it seems as soon as I payed my fees she got hard to get. And now I have to find out how to finalize divorce by myself even though I paid for this service.

12/16/25 UPDATE #3: Jeff, I do not understand why you are responding to my review eight months after it was last updated. I have previously requested that you stop contacting me. Please do so. Your repeated statements regarding neutrality and lack of legal representation are irrelevant. At no point did we believe you represented us in court. When we retained your services in March 2024, you stated your flat-fee service ($2,599 plus a $314 court fee) included two mediation sessions, a separation agreement, preparation of court forms, and filing with the court. We paid in full based on those representations. You provided documents containing multiple errors and collected the court filing fee, but the documents were never filed and the fee was not returned.
