I had call this lawyer because I needed help to fill out some paperwork because I didn’t understand the terms, this lawyer said that is what he did and was able to help me! The day he told me to call him i did he gave a address stated it was his office and when i got there was his house very awkward position I asked if he had provided services at his home he said yea ! I explained him about my situation he made copies of the paperwork he told me to call him in 2 days , by the way he acted very weird make me feel very uncomfortable, call him in 2 days mind you i left a check of $50 when I call he said he couldn’t help me i ask few questions and he is veryyyyy rude !! We have worked with Don Cournoyer for over 2 decades and I was first impressed with his expertise and attention to detail when he saved us tens of thousands of dollars on our first home. Between the work he did to have the seller repair the home for us before closing and the details of the deal where he ensured that the seller paid for items they were trying to get us to pay for, Don worked hard and smart to ensure that we received an amazing deal when we didn't know anything about real estate. I have a real estate client who buys and sells a lot of properties. She uses this attorney all the time so I have had a lot of transactions with him. I find him to be very professional and detailed oriented. On one of these real estate transactions with a bank owned property, I received an email from the bank person we were dealing with, requesting a wire transfer to an account to purchase this property. I had a minor concern about the email (why wasn't it sent to the attorney) but everything in it looked legit. I forwarded the email to Attorney Cournoyer. He immediately recognized that it was a scam email. He noticed that, although the sender's email was the same as the person we had been dealing with, that the sender's email was all in CAPS. This detail saved my client over 100k.

This attorney was the most unprofessional gentleman I have ever dealt with in all of my years of real estate. He agreed to wire funds for a closing but then took it upon himself to overnight a check for over $100,000 and he mailed it to the wrong address. In South Carolina you’re not allowed to cash a check for over $5000 at closing and when I called and tried to explain that to him he told me tough luck and that we would just have to delay the closing. At that point my clients and their moving truck were already down from Massachusetts all the way to South Carolina. The easiest thing to do would have been to cancel the check and wire the funds as he agreed to do previously and when I explained that to him he hung up on me like HI old. Don is the most unprofessional and rude lawyer out there! Doesn't care about his clients, only about taking your money! Apparently he makes a habit of hanging up on people as he did with me and a few others! Don't trust this guy, you will regret it!
