Christian Legal Clinics of Philadelphia

I am a real estate agent who lives outside Philly and my client is selling her mother’s house. Her mother hired a lawyer from the Christian Legal Clinic to help her. However, all she has done is delay the closing of the sale. She will not communicate with me and told my client that she support her all the way to the end of the transaction. Now that lawyer is on maternity leave and we are left hanging still trying to contact someone at the clinic. We were supposed to settle in early November and then the third week of December. My client is still asking for help to get a death certificate that should be simple enough for a lawyer to get but instead she has been told that the title company is being too picky and don’t need that. Just please stop complaining about what you are asked to do and

This is not a good Christian Center to represent African American CHRISTIAN Woman. The previous Attorney I was assigned to knew that I had a very hard time finding an attorney due to my income and conflict of interest. My attorney had poor communication and was not reliable. I called the receptionist to get a different attorney and she said as I quote ( You can tell the admin what happened, I will not relay that message). Court is approaching soon and I needed that communicated. I called back and she said no more.... I HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE ANGRY! YOU ALL KNOW THAT my Mother is trying to ruin my life again as I communicated this. I did not deserve to be abandoned.

I had almost given up on my case when a neighbor referred me to Christian Legal Services. I did not have much time to get my appeal in and was able to go to a clinic down the street from me the very next day. Bill Rupert was my lawyer and sat with me for over an hour and a half discussing my case, picking apart all of the details and finding aspects to dispute I had overlooked. I went away with a better understanding of my case and validated in my experience that I was not given due process. Mr. Rupert continued to help me create a brief for the court and his help has been invaluable. I would highly recommend CLS!

I cannot praise them enough for their service, the volunteer service of the attorneys, and the sound legal advice that I have been given! I did not know what to expect. I have never had to have a lawyer before. Ted Hoppe, our attorney, was very professional, very compassionate and very thorough. My husband and I felt very relaxed and at ease and left after meeting with him with a feeling that our problem would be taken care of.
