Broward County Bar Association

I just called this business (10/31/25) and a secretary stated that they do not have access to Pro Bono lawyers, but can provide me with a private attorney. Why does it say on Google?? Is this clickbait or did they used to provide this service once upon a time??? If not, they need to update to avoid disappointment.

Was given a referral to Antonio Hernandez who I spoke with in December or November and he said he would be able to take the cases on for me and he would do a $250 retainer fee until the $500 Broward County bar association fee is paid up. Then I call him today which is March 2nd 2018 and he said he can not do that for me and he has too many cases so he would not be able to handle my little old raggedy $500 case and then hung up on me while he was talking over me how PROFESSIONAL I guess because hes a lawyer and small people don't matter.

What's the point of having a webform to request a referral of no one's going to follow up? I put in a request three days ago and another one yesterday. No confirmation email, no reply.

Unbelievable experience! Called the Broward Bar Association and the person who answered the phone spoke such badly broken English I hesitate to even call it English. I would suspect that something as important as an attorney referral would be handled professionally from a professional organization. It is plainly obvious the Broward Bar Association lacks that quality.

Person on the line did not know that the FL state bar forwards to the applicable county. Kept repeating "we are not state bar", she never understood my issue, and then asked for $50 upfront for referring me...
