Becker P.C. represents my HOA at Meadows and Winslow, among others across the state, and uses this practice area to unethically generate grossly inflated “collections” revenue. In my case, my HOA dues were on autopay from the time I purchased the property (an investment property). At some point, the dues were increased, and I was never notified of the change. Because the autopay amount remained at the prior rate ($40 instead of the increased $60), a balance accrued without my knowledge. Rather than notifying me, the HOA—through Becker—placed a lien on the property and added approximately $1,800 in legal fees. Terrible experience. Stay away from this firm. My first attorney left the firm without notice and I was charged for the time to meet my new attorney (that I did not get to consult with but rather assigned). Literally the night before a settlement conference. I had to review and correct almost every document that was drafted (while reminding them that I was their client in mentioned documents). My first attorney (who left) would ask if I wanted to hang out at the end of our calls. They dragged my case for 2 years charging me for every second. My new attorney was able to move the case forward in a week, and highlighted that Becker’s diligence was unprofessional. I will be reporting them to the State Bar.

I forewarn future and current clients to thoroughly check their billing from Becker Lawyers. They reviewed a standard rental lease for myself, and charged 2 hours for the review. This is an exorbitant amount of time to charge to a landlord/client to review a renter’s lease.
