Ms. Bazzell demonstrated incompetence for a basic custody hearing. The father and I are in full agreement so we simply needed to submit a petition and attend the hearing. I paid a retainer, yet Ms. Bazzell did not: - file the first two times she said she would (I had to follow up to remind her) - send a notice to the father and copy me (required by law) - submit the father’s ID, address and phone number to the court (officer had no way to know who he is, halted the process immediately) - receive approval to call the father (in lieu of his presence) who lives out of the country When I told her, I was concerned about the status of the case and would pay her the balance after we were successful, she refused to represent me and walked out minutes before the hearing.
