Jim Burkett has been my attorney for several years. During that time he has provided valuable guidance on residential real estate transactions, personal estate planning and settlement of family estates. I am the daughter of a beneficiary of the estate mentioned in previous negative reviews left for Mr. James Burkett, an attorney with this firm. Mr. Burkett is nowattempting to charge the estate over $1000 for time he spent READING THE REVIEWS ONLINE. This is a clear attempt at extorting the estate to remove the 100% truthful reviews and as a result, I have filed a formal complaint with the bar association regarding this latest unethical practice performed by Mr. James Burkett. He has further charged over $2000 for reading requests for an accounting of the estate which he must legally provide, yet to date 19 months after the death of the writer of the will, Mr. Burkett has REFUSED to provide any accounting of any kind to any beneficiery

One conversation two weeks after father passed away, death certificate was then emailed to firm for them to process it, and then multiple emails and phone calls not returned FOR FIVE MONTHS?! Over five months later after another phone call we were informed they were dropping our case “too busy.” Who does that?

If only there was a option for zero stars. My husband and I retained Paula Berube for a family court matter. She had no problem taking our money and brushing us off. We were suppose to go to trial and the other party did not show, in fact he never showed for anything. Needless to say I was in need of a custody order from over 90 days ago and had to beg her office for a document that should’ve been filed in December. Her poor demeanor and lack of communication was then placed on “losing her assistant after 28 years”. That is not my problem, but best believe I got a bill for her negligence. When I reached out to her after calling the practice multiple times (with zero response) she tells replies; Wow. I hope your theft of my services somehow makes you happy.
